Malcolm joined Verity’s Investment Team in 2008. He began his investment career in New York with Merrill Lynch in 1980, later holding portfolio management positions at First Union National Bank and at several private investment firms, including Chatham Advisors, a registered investment advisory firm he co-owned. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and has served on the Board of Governors of the CFA Institute.

Drawing upon his experience in the Trust division of a major southeastern bank, Malcolm designed the firm’s dividend income strategies and manages individual dividend income portfolios for clients of the firm.

Malcolm has taught Investment Planning at Duke University’s Executive Certificate Program for Financial Planning and lectured at the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University. He has testified as an expert witness in trials where sustainable, long-term portfolio income was an issue.
